Accompanying your child's development from the very beginning

FenKid® stands for “Frühe Entwicklung des Kindes begleiten” – accompanying the development of a child in the first years of life. The FenKid concept was developed by the Beratungsstelle für Natürliche Geburt und Elternsein e. V. in Munich and is based on experience gained through working with babies as well as approaches associated with Maria Montessori, Emmi Pikler, Elfriede Hengstenberg an Jesper Juul.

Our FenKid classes in English are for parents and their babies or young children who would like to accompany their child's development with attention and curiosity.

In an environment prepared and adapted for the age of your baby, babies and young children have the opportunity to move, play, explore and simply be. They can follow their own interests and discover their surroundings at their own pace.

One important part of FenKid is to learn about the individuality and needs of our child, by watching, appreciating, valuing, perceiving and sharing the moment. What catches their attention? What are they trying to communicate? What are their individual interests? By watching and reflecting together, parents can learn to recognise their child's signals and respond to them in an individual and sensitive way.

The children can also meet others at a similar age and gradually discover the experience of being together. Songs, rhymes, movement and play provide opportunities for communication and shared experiences.

The course also offers time for parents to talk and reflect together. Questions from everyday family life can be discussed, including feeding, sleep, childcare, returning to work, education and other topics that are important to you.

FenKid is not about following a fixed programme or achieving specific developmental goals. The focus is on the child and their individual needs. By paying attention to the child's interests and impulses, parents can gain confidence in their own and strengthen their relationship with their child.

FenKid in English offers a regular time to slow down, watch your child, exchange experiences with other parents and find new inspiration for everyday family life.
